Sunday morning. Sitting on the rooftop. Tried to get a coffee but the place was closed. I went across the street but they didn’t take cash so I returned to the hotel to make a new plan of action. Now I am here, trying to decide where to go.
Yesterday was fun. Hung out with that guy again. We met up with his friend and their partner and went on a double date to Asiatique, the riverfront market. It was fun! It’s nice to just have fun. No drama, all chill. Just fun.
His friend is a teacher here. He gave me lots of good advice. He says it’s really easy to teach here if you have all the credentials, which I do. He gave me all the info I needed, which is helpful. It’s good to talk to a real person out in the wild who has had some real experience in the field.
It’s always good to make new friends on the road.
Leaving for India tomorrow. How do I feel about it? Fine, I guess. Ready to have some structure in my life. Ready to work towards my goal. Ready to figure shit out.
Now I just have to figure out how to pack my suitcase with all the stuff I bought. Ugh. I have a problem, lol. It’s okay.
Time to go get ready for the day now… more to say later, perhaps.

Several hours later…
I have returned to the rooftop, coffee in tow. Finally found another stand that was open. Everything in my neighborhood is closed today. I’m clearly not paying attention to what day it is. Yet another reason it’s time to get out of my bubble…
Currently wearing one of those cheesy rainbow dresses they sell in the markets here. Love it. Had to get it. Very expressive for how I feel after my trip to Thailand, lol. Happy and full of smiles! 🙂
Really glad I met those teachers last night. So much useful information. It’s better when it comes from real people instead of a screen. Like, okay. These people are my age. They’re American. They’ve had real experiences. They’ve been here longer than me. I can trust this advice.
The evening ended with the four of us returning to the spot where we originally met up. It was some random drink stand in some back alleyway under an overpass. It was originally a canal and farmland, but they paved over all of it. Now it’s sinking back into the ground so they can’t build anything on it. There’s nothing back there except little shacks, sheds, and stands along the lines of where the old canal used to be. It was dark and overgrown with jungle but I could still hear the sound of traffic passing overhead. We sat on a random collection of mismatched plastic chairs, drinking cheap Thai beer and talking about life. This is exactly what I thought Thailand would be like.
I’m glad I had this adventure. What’s next, I wonder? Yoga in India, sure, but after? Still a question mark. It’s good to know there are so many options. All I need is to get my confidence back up.
Well, meeting that guy definitely helped the confidence meter a lot. He was nice. We had a good time. It was fun! No strings attached. Just… fun. 🙂
I never got to have fun in Verm. It was so lame there. Nobody ever wanted to do anything fun at all, ever. Now I’m finally out in the world, relaxing and having a good time. I just wonder why people are so against having fun? Who knows.
So glad I left.
Okay, career mode on. Scrolling through the job boards with a different mindset this time. This is my current obsession. I will get my professional shit together!
Back to the apartment now. The storm clouds are gathering above. Hopefully I can finish my coffee before it rains. I really enjoy looking out over this amazing view of Bangkok. Definitely worth paying for!
So was this rainbow dress. Love it! Officially obsessed with the dress!
