Saturday.
Currently sitting in my apartment with all of the lights off and the aircon on blast. It’s so hot here in HK this week. I’ve been out in the sun in small bursts to give myself microdoses of Vitamin D. It really is doing a lot for my mood to have more sun exposure.
Had a productive day today. Went onto my local job board account and spent a few hours on it. I went through my saved jobs list, applied for all the teaching jobs, deleted all the expired posts, and left all the writing/editing/journalism/marketing posts on the board.
I think I applied to something like 65 teaching jobs today. I literally just cleared my list. Much to my surprise, I heard back from one company almost immediately. They sent me an email asking for follow up information, which I sent back in a timely manner.
Now I plan to make a different resume for the 75 remaining jobs on my list, all of which fall into the writing/editing/journalism/marketing field. I’m just going to throw it out there and see how it goes. I don’t know how the visa situation is with those.
Right now the most important thing is to find a company that fits well and provides a visa. The visa is probably the most important thing. I really need to get that solid year of Hong Kong work experience on my CV before I do anything else.
I’m not going to worry about it anymore today. I’m getting ready for the reggae-ska festival tonight. I’ve been looking forward to this for over a month now. Yeah, I have to go by myself, but whatever. I’m not missing out on this just because I’m alone. It’s been forever since I went to a reggae festival. I need this in my life to heal my soul. It is what it is.
I definitely regret not going to Latin Carnival last week. That’s why I vowed to myself I wouldn’t miss out on tonight just because I’m alone. Maybe I’ll meet other people there who also like reggae. Reggae friends are good friends to have. Some might even say the best kind of friends to have. 🙂
I feel a shift in my energy field lately. I think it’s just from knowing I’ve survived an entire year abroad on my own and haven’t drowned yet. It’s really motivating me to give myself that extra push and just go for it. I have nothing to lose. I came, I saw, I conquered. I did the damn thang. I have nothing to feel ashamed of or insecure about. I’m awesome!
Okay, off to get ready now. What should I wear? Should I go full rainbow dress? Maybe!
Have a good day!
