BLOG: Off We Goa!

Monday night. Taking a break from packing to write. So many thoughts in my head. I can’t believe I’m really doing this right now. Crazy. Excited, but kinda nervous. Mostly just excited.

Ready to go to sleep now, but I am only now just about to set off on my journey. I am still packing. What started as a single backpack has naturally turned into a carry-on and checked bag. Let’s be real, I am not the grungy backpacker type. I’m more like the “cozy up in a cafe overlooking a beautiful landscape or busy street and spend the afternoon writing away” type. You know, the “needs some options for dinner out” type. Like the “needs a million beauty products and medicines just in case” type. The “person who looks like they should get a free upgrade to business class type.” So, obviously, I need more than one bag. That’s just reality. I need a place to store my yoga mat!

Sometimes it’s better to just accept yourself for who you are and pack accordingly. It’s just easier this way.

My biggest concern as of right now is getting SIM cards. It should be fairly easy, but also… I haven’t done it before. When I was in Paris before, I deliberately chose not to buy one or carry my phone. I did not miss it all. However, given the circumstances, I need a working phone. So, hopefully that will be something I can accomplish at the airport. Pretty sure I can just get it at a random kiosk. Definitely overthinking it for sure.

Not sure what the outlets are like. Didn’t think of that until right now. Also seems like something I can easily acquire. I have no idea. Seems like a hotel thing. I’m sure they deal with clueless Americans all the time. That’s a real thing. When all else fails, play the Dumb American card. 69% of the time, it works every time.

Waiting on my laundry right now. Just not sure what to bring, so I’m bringing some options just in case. I don’t know how long I’ll be gone, so that’s a factor too. Once I have all my clothes dry, I’ll know what I can take and leave for sure.

So many thoughts going through my mind. Various situations seemed to magically resolve themselves today. A former bartender from Bloody Mary’s who is an “outsider” to SD approached me and we had a little chat. Let’s just say… Cult Status Confirmed.

Next, former Starbucks co-worker gave me all the deets. Turns out the one guy whose Snapchats I posted on here was fired for sexually harassing another employee. He was also arrested for assaulting someone at his other place of work. So, that’s fun! Glad I narrowly avoided getting physically assaulted in broad daylight on a Monday. Turns out he was a terrible person all along. So, there you have it!

Last but not least, the Holidate Guy. I confirmed with a source that someone DEFINITEY emailed the higher-ups at the University after I told them all the stories I had collected about him. They told the admin to be on the lookout at the basketball tournament. Lo and behold, he done fucked up, as we all knew he would. We still do not know for sure exactly what the details are, but we did figure out that I finally contacted his wife around the same time and he was fired shortly after. Again, no one has seen or heard from him since. It is shrouded in mystery. My source and I can only hope she took her money and ran.

Hashtag, Teamwork Makes the Dream Work!

And that’s how you wrap it all up neatly and tie it with a pretty little bow! The End.

Love it. Vibing. It feels like I can finally start my new project fresh. We’re just gonna make as much content as we can. Whatever form it may come in. I’ve got plenty of ideas to investigate while I’m gone. I’m ready to write, do yoga, bum around the beach, and eat delicious food.

OMG I can’t believe I’m actually doing this!!!!!!! AHHHHHHH!

Off to finish packing now. Leaving soon. I can’t believe I’m doing this. I’m really doing this. I’m going to India. Wild!

Wish me luck!
