Saturday. I think? I honestly have no idea what day it is or where I even am anymore. I don’t even know exactly where I am in Bangkok right now. Ask me and I will shrug and say, “Nestled away in a beautiful garden somewhere in the midst of all the chaos of the day.”
Yes, I know, hard to believe. I came all the way to Thailand just to meditate and do yoga. Shocking. Yes, it’s true. I have transformed my temporary accommodation into my own little meditation zone. I simply drift from my room to the garden to the coffee shop to the rooftop and back again.
Yesterday it was not raining, so I did my full yoga routine in the garden in front of the shrine. I could hear the teacher’s voice guiding me through the routine and testing out how my practice looks after a year away from the Shala. There has been significant improvement on my backb ends, but my twists are very weak. I have not been incorporating them into my routine at all. In fact, my routine is only 60 minutes when it should be closer to 75-90. There is still much I have yet to learn.
Have I written anything? Yes, as a matter of fact I have. It was actually quite surprising.
I was meditating and a new character appeared before me. I was quite intrigued, as it was this guy I met in Dubai. Not the Desert Rose guy. The other guy. There were like 3 or 4 guys that I talked to, to be honest with you, lol. This one is the one from the crazy night out who I was calling Loofah Jr. I think he said he was Emirati? God knows who he really was. Interesting, very interesting.
I guess I was bored and it wasn’t Andrew or my ex, so I decided to follow the little plot bunny down the rabbit hole to see where that mess led. Lol. The results were quite interesting, so I decided it was worth writing down. They’re not always worth writing down, you know. I guess this one felt he really had something important to say.
I took a blank piece of paper, folded it up like a pamphlet with six pages, and wrote out the story by hand. It fit perfectly on the six pages. Challenge Accepted.
So, that was fun and interesting. A new short story format, for certain. I guess when you need a story on the go, a pamphlet is the best mode for transportation. You can just roll it right up and put it in your pocket.
Hilarious.
Haha, you see how much of an idiot my ex-boyfriend is? He just doesn’t get it. Anyway, not my problem anymore. Clearly I’ve moved on to bigger and better things, like writing short stories in Ye Olde Pamphlet format. Now all I need is the handwoven papyrus paper and fancy calligraphy pens.
Well, that just happened. So now I’m out relaxing by the pool, writing on the blog again. Let’s discuss some observations about Bangkok so far:
-Lots of old white guys with young, hot Asian women. Most of the men look like trolls. It’s basically Reddit come to life, which is depressing. Definitely the least attractive men I’ve seen on my journey so far. I believe they call them “Passport Bros.”
They remind me of the guy I was messing around with before I went to India in what he probably looks like now post-divorce. Big ol’ pot belly, five o’clock shadow, folded over looking like all the life has been sucked out of them. To say ick would be a massive understatement. Big time loser energy.
-Most amazing coffee I’ve ever had in my entire life.
-Lots of amazing food for very cheap prices.
-Chill vibes amidst the chaos.
-Feelings of inspiration, innovation, prosperity, and hope. Here is a place where you can manifest your vision. Here is a place you can build your life.

Other observations about my overall trip so far:
—The hottest guys were definitely in Dubai. This is the recovered island where all of them have been hiding. I found the buried treasure in the sand! They all dress nice, drive new cars, live in luxury housing. It’s just like an all-you-can-eat buffet! The only catch to this beautiful desert oasis is the fact that it’s all purely a hallucination.
Hong Kong had some hotties with bodies, for sure. We definitely scoped out some sexy runners down by the harbor and at the gym across the street. Whoever said Asian men aren’t hot clearly has never been to Hong Kong. If you like that fit finance bro type, there are plenty to choose from.
As for Indian men… well… you know how I feel about this topic. It’s very complicated. Just be careful of being lured in by their eyes and put under their spell and being deceived into believing things you shouldn’t. That’s definitely a thing. Don’t be fooled by their flashy dancing and siren’s songs.
—The best places to shop for clothes are Dubai and Hong Kong. Lots of choice, duty free. I regret not shopping more, but I can’t be hauling that much stuff right now. I still dream of taking an empty suitcase to Shanghai and hitting all the fashion markets. Maybe someday when I find a more permanent accommodation.
—I am so happy that I left my old life behind and took this journey across the world. Next stop? Who knows! I can only say that I am no longer caught up in any particular outcome or destination. I only dream of a more stable housing situation.
—I’m really glad I went to Hong Kong. It taught me so much. I’m glad I took the risk even if that particular situation wasn’t right for me. There are many other teaching opportunities out there that are much better suited for me.
—I’m more inspired than I’ve been in awhile. Finally, I am here. I did it. I am on the other side of the world. I am not staring at a screen desperately searching Google looking for what’s coming next. I am not escaping through hours of Netflix to fill the endless hours of passing time. I am here in this moment right now, totally at peace, writing in my notebook beside the pool, taking in the sights and sounds of the peaceful garden around me.
Off now to go giggle some more. I’m weirdly proud of this pamphlet story. It’s amusing to me. Hmm… very amusing, indeed. I just have one question: Is there more?
Actually I have two questions. Can I sell this on Amazon for a profit? I’m intrigued.
Say more, character. Teach me about the true and ugly nature of capitalism in this world and this life.
Hmm. Interesting. I have some time to explore this idea further. Let’s see where it goes.
